WILLIAM H AND PAULINE M BESKAR SCHOLARSHIP
The William H. and Pauline Beskar Scholarship was established by Pauline to help students pursue their dreams of higher education and make a positive difference in the Chippewa Valley. Growing up in a family where postsecondary education was not a priority, Pauline understands the challenges many students face in reaching their goals. Through this scholarship, she hopes to open doors to others who have the desire and determination to succeed but face financial barriers.
Pauline and her late husband Bill built a life grounded in hard work, family, and community. Pauline devoted herself to raising their children and supporting the family through childcare and other jobs, while Bill taught high school math and chemistry before the couple returned to Menomonie to dairy farm. In 1986, they sold their cows and started a successful crop and bean processing business, Bes Bean Co. Inc. continuing their shared passion for agriculture and entrepreneurship. Together, they created a home where faith, perseverance, and kindness were part of their daily life.
This scholarship honors their legacy of generosity and commitment and to others. Preference will be given to students with demonstrated financial need, who show promise in achieving their educational and career goals.
