NANCY BEJIN RADIOGRAPHY MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

NANCY BEJIN RADIOGRAPHY MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

The Nancy Bejin Radiography Memorial Scholarship was created in Spring 2012. Nancy was a long-time member of CVTC’s Radiography Advisory Committee and a mentor to many radiography students.

Nancy passed away March 26, 2012, after a two-year battle with cancer. Nancy was a wife to Bruce and mother to Jessica and Ben. She worked as a radiology technologist at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls, WI, for 33 years. Nancy grew up out in the country on a hobby farm with her mom and dad (Vera & Gunnar Anderson) and brother (Don). She learned early in life about being compassionate and responsible, and the importance of a strong work ethic.

Nancy was very dedicated to her work and family and never complained when she had to get up during the night for work when she was on call. She always said that someone else was having a worse time than she was. Nancy was lovingly devoted to her family but had a lot of love left to give to others. She always wore a smile that was infectious.

When Nancy became ill, she received many cards and good wishes from her students, friends, and colleagues. She saved each of them, and the words from each helped Nancy during her illness and her family during their healing. Some of the words are below:
• I feel privileged to have been able to work with you and consider you a friend.
• I will always remember the good times we have had.
• You have been my mentor.
• You taught me the “right” way to do things.
• I don’t know what I would have done without all your well-written notes.
• You are one of the most outstanding human beings that I have ever met.
• You have always been a wonderful friend and colleague.
• Thank you so much for calling and talking to me the other night.
• You are such a wonderful and strong person. You have been through so much, and you still are so caring and always think of others.
• I just wanted to tell you how much I have learned and leaned on you.
• Thank you for everything you have taught me.
