MYRTLE E. LEMAY BEST MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Myrtle E. LeMay Best was a custodian at Chippewa Valley Technical College from 1967 to 1977. The first $125 scholarship was awarded in May 1986.
Myrtle was a believer in CVTC and the students attending the College. She was a lifelong “student” and, along with her husband, audited classes at UW-Eau Claire. “When I was three years old, I used to hang around the school so much with my sister that they let me spend one and a half years in kindergarten before I was old enough to enter.” “We believe in tech schools—that students would be better off going there—they have a better chance of getting meaningful work.”
Myrtle was a supporter of CVTC and vocational/technical education. She passed away in 1998.
