MAYBELLE BRECHLIN PRICE MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established from the estate of Maybelle (Ranney) Brechlin Price. Ms. Price was homemaking coordinator and instructor at the college from 1957 through 1976. Maybelle Ranney (Brechlin) Price, 69, passed away on August 15, 1993, in Brandon, FL, after a three-month illness.

Maybelle graduated from UW-Stout and taught briefly at Roberts, WI, and Savannah, IL, high schools. At the end of World War II, she became a civilian employee of the U.S. Government in Okinawa, serving there for four years. On her return to the U.S., Maybelle worked as a medical secretary in San Francisco and for Dr. Lillehei at the University of Minnesota Hospital in the Twin Cities. She then resumed teaching first at Fond du Lac than Eau Claire, concluding her career at Chippewa Valley Technical College. In Eau Claire, she was active in the League of Women Voters. After moving to Brandon, FL, in 1979, she married Ernest C. Price (retired U.S. Air Force Lt. Col.) and became active as a tailor of fine garments and member of the Apostles’ Lutheran Church.
