JIM & JESSICA BINDER AODA/NURSING MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP
Jessica Laura E. Binder passed away on October 19, 2010, at the age of 31. Jessica was enrolled at the Chippewa Valley Technical College in the Alcohol & Other Drug Abuse program at the time of her death. She was also just 12 credits short of receiving her degree from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Photography.
Jessica was known by her friends and family as motherly, brave, gorgeous, adorable, radiant, adventurous, curious, inquisitive, mischievous, free-spirited, imaginative, intelligent, creative, and good humored. She was an artist who had a great love of learning, and she was a writer and avid book reader. Jessica will be dearly missed and remembered by many.
Jessica’s sole surviving sibling, Allison, is a 2007 Nursing-Associate Degree graduate of Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Jessica’s father, James, had received two associate degrees from the Wisconsin Technical College System. In 1972, he received a Mechanical Design degree from Mid-State Technical College, and in 1975 was granted a degree in Marketing from CVTC. James was also an instructor at CVTC from January 1988 until May 2011. The Jessica Binder AODA Memorial Scholarship was established in 2010 by Jessica’s parents, James and Patricia.
