IVAR WALKER MEMORIAL ENDOWMENT SCHOLARSHIP

A longtime member of Chippewa Valley Technical College governing board, Ivar Walker was an active supporter of Eau Claire and its community life. Ivar was a contractor who developed the Putnam Heights area of Eau Claire and operated Walker Bros. Inc., a painting and decorating business, with his brother, Andrew.

In addition to serving on the Chippewa Valley Technical College board for three and one-half decades and as its president for 25 of those years, he served on the boards of Luther Hospital and the YMCA, and was active in his church. Born in Norway, Mr. Walker died in the spring of 1976. The funds for this scholarship came from fundraisers sponsored by Chippewa Valley Technical College Foundation and from family and friends.
