CAMMIE B. JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

CAMMIE B. JOHNSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Cammie B. Johnson was born on December 17, 1986. She was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was ten years old. For ten years she attended the American Diabetes Association “Camp Sioux” as a camper, kitchen staff, and a counselor. She had the unique ability to comfort first-time campers by encouraging them to laugh, smile, and feel safe away from home. Cammie attained her CNA designation during her senior year of high school and was enrolled in the nursing program at Northwest Technical College in East Grand Ford, MN. She passed away due to complications of diabetes on December 12, 2007. This scholarship is available through an endowment that was established by Cammie’s family and friends and continues to be supported by the annual Cammie B. Johnson Juvenile Diabetes Golf Scramble held each June.
